Create and run queries from a browser
aXes Data Explorer is a browser-based DB2 query tool to create distributed SQL database queries for DB2 databases and any accessible data sources.
Building queries with the aXes DB2 query tool requires no knowledge of, or experience with SQL. You can build a query via a point-and-click wizard in the query builder. Display the list of tables (or files) in a database, choose columns (or fields), add selection filters and the aXes DB2 query tool generates SQL code that will retrieve the data from the database. Using the query editor, experienced users have the option to extend the generated SQL code or write SQL code from scratch.
Save queries and recall them for later use
The aXes DB2 query tool provides the option to save your queries. To use the query again, all you need to do is select the saved query and run it. This makes it quicker and easier to rerun frequently used queries.
Saving queries also provides a way to distribute information to customers on the Web. The customer can load a saved query, set the selection filters (e.g. a date range) and run the query.
View query results on the Web
The aXes DB2 query tool provides the power to deliver real-time query result data in a Web page to any authorized user anywhere. The aXes DB2 query tool runs the query and displays the query results as a Web page.
Incorporate query results in applications like Microsoft Excel and Word
Query results can be easily incorporated in applications such as Excel and Word without writing macros. You can copy and paste the information from the query results Web page directly into the application. You can then use tools like Excel to analyse the data and you have complete control over its presentation.
Access queries results from anywhere
Your staff, customers, suppliers and partners can use queries over the Internet using any device with a browser. Distributing queries on the Web provides information to customers, suppliers and partners on a self-services basis - reducing calls to your customer service staff.
Zero deployment – nothing to download or install
Zero deployment means no installation, no configuration and no need to download ActiveX components or other add-ons to the browser on the client computer or device.
